Ok I’m really curious
What do you guys call this
Puppy cone
Puppy cup
Kitty cone
Kitty cup
Fluffy cup
Fluffy cone
Bunny cup
Bunny cone
Something else????? (Tags)
I’m sorry who in their right mind would call that anything but a puppy cup. It’s a fucking puppy cup. Who’s out there calling it a fucking fluffy cup.
……..I do…………
Ok I feel the need to specify that these are roleplay blogs for a furry webcomic and that this poll takes place within said furry webcomic. Their world is entirely furries. None of these are real names for kiddy cones. The joke is that since it’s a world full of a bajillion different species with a bajillion different terms for their kids that they don’t have one specific name for the cone. Am I making sense.
ah you see I see this post on my dash with no context and I think perhaps people just have insane regional names for ice cream cones that I have never heard

49373i will never understand the insane takes against having games be more accessible
“does every game NEED to be accessible to disabled people? 🤨” yeah, actually
also the pissing and shitting over difficulty settings. just play the game on the normal difficulty dumbass it’s not for you
Same with stuff like screen shake, particle effects, flashing/lightning effects: “But the game would look terrible without them!”
Then Just…. Don’t turn them off then, dickface…
Meanwhile, *having the option to turn them off* would greatly increase the number of people able to play the game.

104genuinely i think tumblr would be a better website if it got deleted from the apple app store, reversed the porn ban, and forced people to use it as a website/web app instead. cohost does that and it works great. failing that, lie to apple and just allow nsfw anyway because fuck app store moderation requirements
except that the app store thing is blown way out of proportion - they got removed because they had a child porn problem and used that as an excuse to be Moral And Upstanding and ban porn altogether since it’s significantly easier to run a site w/o any porn whatsoever esp. when it comes to dealing with payment processors etc.
if the app store forbade any app with porn on it then twitter and reddit wouldn’t be there. and if they REALLY wanted to be sure they could just do what discord and reddit already do and add a toggle on the website to enable adult content in their mobile apps - that way no unsuspecting minor could just download the app and get blasted with hog unless they intentionally enabled it (something they could even do with an age gate! wow!)
yeah apple and google have bad and annoying policies but they had nothing to do with tumblr banning porn.

10972Wait I realized this Twitter rate limiting thing happened literally the same day as the Reddit 3rd party app shut downs. Wonder how many of those users have come here today to this Luigi Wins By Doing Nothing Ass website

56057don't use "ftm" it's outdated and offensive. it implies that the trans person was their agab, which we never were. i was always a boy, never a girl who became a boy.
- i’m 35 years old. i’ve been IDing as trans or something similar to trans for nearly 20 years. i was probably calling myself FTM while you were playing tag during recess, anon.
- i WAS a girl. i IDed as a girl early in my life. i recognized myself as a girl, called myself a girl, lived as a girl, and was a girl. who then IDed as a man. hence, F t M.
- spend more time worrying about yourself instead of strangers on the internet, anon.
sorry not sorry if this comes off as needlessly hostile, but i’ve been getting a lot of shit from a lot of teenage trans kids about the language i use to describe my own goddamn experience, and i’m growing real fuckin weary of it.
i have elder trans friends who call themselves transsexuals and transvestites and trannies. are you going to seriously go to a 60-year-old trans person who survived the reagan years and tell her she’s not allowed to use certain language to describe herself because it might offend the delicate sensibilities of some teenager on the internet?
do yourself a favor and log off, find some real-life trans people who are over the age of 20 or 25, and spend time talking to them instead of getting all holier-than-thou at random strangers on tumblr.
It may be weird to encounter because it’s not the trans narrative that the media sells to us as ‘the only valid way to be trans’, but the 'I always knew I was x’ is not all-encompassing.
Anon there are more people than you think who were girls who grew up into men, or boys who grew up into women, or girls or boys who grew up to be nonbinary. There is a rather obscure theory that girl and boy are distinct genders from man and woman and while the most common trajectory is that boys grow into men and girls grow into women it’s not the rule.
Let people define themselves.
also if you think genderfluid people are real and you’re not just humoring us, you by definition have to allow that gender can change over time. I was a girl once. I am not a girl now.
Chiming in with solidarity to OP.
I feel very protective of my former identity BECAUSE there’s so little room in the Mainstream Trans Narrative ™️ for allowing gender to change.
I was a girl. Now I’m genderqueer. Maybe later I will find different words for myself.
There has to be room for all of us in the trans community or there’s no point to any of this.
Ive been here long enough to see words like ftm/mtf, afab/amab, transmale/female, trans man/woman all go through the cycle of ppl telling you to “Dont use X word its out dated. Now use this Y word”. Only for a year or two pass and suddenly “Y word is outdated. Now use Z word” like yall this is exhausting. Just because a word is old doesn’t automatically make it a slur or offensive.
Words don’t matter as much as people.

44114lowering the social stigma of gender nonconformity also lowers the threshold of how bad people have to be suffering before they’re willing to discuss their feelings openly. I guarantee you that a TON of humans who felt vaguely alienated by/uncomfortable with their assigned gender have lived and died within a cisgender identity framework, because the enormous social cost of being honest just wasn’t worth it if they weren’t miserable. that was a bad thing!
letting people weigh their options for themselves without putting a thumb on the scale is freeing. so of course we’ve started hearing people discuss wildly unusual ways of experiencing gender. it does not matter whether the teenagers who made up the goofy-sounding new gender term you’re annoyed about end up being capital-T trans or not. it just matters that they feel safe talking about it, because everyone benefits from that. you cannot lower one threshold without lowering the other. this is a feature, not a bug. this is a good thing!
Yes, and this is also why I’m such an advocate for pulling “crossdress“ and its derivatives back from the semi-stigmatized status as ‘outdated relics‘ within the queer community. Because even ignoring the way that “crossdressers and gnc folks are all just eggs”* rhymes well enough with “trans folks are just crossdressing“ that it may singlehandedly prove Horseshoe Theory, gender nonconformity is, in fact, alive and well as a separate phenomenon and should therefore not be lumped in with transgenderism.
I also want to expand OP’s second paragraph argument: Not only does destigmatizing gender nonconformity necessarily help destigmatize transsexuality, it can also help cis folks become more confident in their identity. There’s a post by @froody et al. about how “going through a period of questioning your gender that ends with ‘I am cis’ lets you unlock Cis+“ (1), and that fact’s entirely true. Experimenting with your gender presentation can both provide more pleasing ways to present cis and (help) determine if you’re trans.
*See, eg. the misuse (2) of Will Wood’s I/Me/Myself by some of his fandom to claim that he’s trans, rather than cis and gnc.
And like, we should also accept that the grey area between ‘being trans’ and ‘being gendernonconforming and cis’ is very fucking blurry and always will be and some people can’t be coherently describes as trans or cis and that’s good. That space between yet another binary is a thing to treasure.

64570The trope where a character overhears something out of context and assumes the worst is usually annoying and bad but I really think it works well in Shrek
We, the audience, know that Fiona is talking about herself but, regardless, she’s calling herself these terrible things because she is an ogre. If Fiona is these things because she is is an ogre what does that make Shrek?
If Fiona says no one could love her because she is an ogre, she is saying that Shrek is also unloveable whether she wants to or not.
Imo the scene is a really good portrayal of how when you talk poorly of yourself or others for having a trait, you’re also talking about every other person who shares that trait; even if you love them or think what you’re saying doesn’t apply to them.
Not going to lie, I saw the word “Shrek” and never expected this to be a deep post.
On the being deep about Shrek website?
